Bob thought for a moment, and then said with a nervous laugh, "You wouldn't happen to have another example, would you? I must confess I don't know much about history."
“大夫，”鮑伯問(wèn)，“您能跟我說(shuō)下嗎，怎么才能知道一個(gè)表現(xiàn)得完全正常的人有智力缺陷？”
“沒(méi)比這更容易的事了，”大夫說(shuō)，“你問(wèn)他一個(gè)誰(shuí)都能輕松回答的簡(jiǎn)單問(wèn)題，如果他拿不準(zhǔn)，那你就有譜了。”
“哦，那什么樣的問(wèn)題呢？”
“這樣，你可以問(wèn)他‘庫(kù)克船長(zhǎng)做過(guò)三次環(huán)球旅行，并在其中一次死去，是哪一次？’。”
鮑伯想了一會(huì)兒，然后緊張地笑著說(shuō)：“您不會(huì)正好沒(méi)別的問(wèn)題了吧，還有別的么？我得老實(shí)說(shuō)，我對(duì)歷史懂得不多。”
