Education
Education plays a vital role in building a powerful and prosperous country. A country full of illiterates would suffer from poverty and would have no escape from humiliation， as is the case with old China. Modern science and technology are progressing rapidly， and our country is in dire need of gifted persons. Only by developing education of the whole nation can we realize the four modernizations which would otherwise be an empty talk.
College education is much more than dancing or going on a picnic； there are lots of serious things to learn.
The aim of education is not set upon fame and riches； as a matter of fact， if aims at much more important goals. We go to school not for the purpose of gaining a diploma so as to make it easier to get employed and promoted for a bright career. Instead ，we go to school to acquire solid knowledge， to receive sound moral training， and to build up a strong body. Developing morally， intellectually and physically， we prepare ourselves for the future work to be assigned by the country.
Most problems can be lumped into three types： organizational， process， or cultural.
As to how to improve our education， several points should be made. First of all， we should teach people the fact that the development of our country relies on education. We should mobilize the whole nation to run all kinds of schools， to eliminate thoroughly the illiteracy of the country. What is more， actions should be taken to increase the education fund and to raise the teachers' salary and prestige.
