In a cinema during a performance one of the audience gets up, makes his way along the row of seats and goes out into the foyer.
在一家電影院里，一名觀眾在演出期間站了起來，沿著他那排位子走到休息室去了。
A few minutes later he returns and asks the man sitting at the head of the row:
幾分鐘后，他回到那排位子并問坐在首位的那位男士道：
"Excuse me, was it your foot I stepped on when I was going out a moment ago?"
“對不起，請問我剛才出去的時候是踩著你的腳嗎？”
"Yes, but it doesn't really matter. It didn't hurt at all."
“是的，不過沒什么關系，一點也不疼。”
"Oh, no, it isn't that. I only want to make sure that this is my row."
“噢，不，我不是這個意思。我只是想確認一下這是不是我的那排位子。”
NOTES:
1. to be on the safe side 為了安全起見
例：Just to be on the safe side, we have to leave ASAP. 為了慎重起見，我們必須盡快地離開這里。
* ASAP 是 as soon as possible 的縮寫，這個很常用，大家要記住哦~
2. make one's way 向……進發，朝……走去
例：I made my way towards the harbor. 我朝港口的方向走。
3. at the head of... 在……的最前面；相反，“在……的結尾，末端”就是 at the end of...
4. step on one's foot 踩到某人的腳
如果你不慎踩到了別人的腳，別忘了好好道歉哦：Sorry, I didn't mean to step on your foot. 對不起，我不是故意踩你的。
