Volunteers work tirelessly to create a better future for all. They contribute to national well-being and show global solidarity at times of crisis. We see this in action all over the world, most notably over the past year as volunteers have provided shelter and wide-ranging support to millions of refugees forced from their homes by armed conflict and persecution.

志愿人員堅(jiān)持不懈地努力為所有人創(chuàng)造一個(gè)更美好的未來(lái)。他們?yōu)閲?guó)家的福祉作出貢獻(xiàn)，在危機(jī)時(shí)刻展現(xiàn)了全球團(tuán)結(jié)。我們?cè)谌澜缍寄芸吹竭@種精神在行動(dòng)，尤其顯著的是在過(guò)去的一年中，志愿人員為因武裝沖突和迫害而被迫逃離家園的數(shù)百萬(wàn)難民提供住所和廣泛的幫助。

Volunteers help to eliminate poverty and reduce the impact of disasters. In Haiti, we saw the efforts of thousands during the recent floods, helping to re-build devastated communities. In Sri Lanka, volunteers were instrumental in achieving the great feat of eradicating malaria. In Mali and Colombia, UN Volunteers are among those working to achieve peace.

志愿人員幫助人們消除貧窮和減少災(zāi)害的影響。在海地，我們看到成千上萬(wàn)人在最近的洪災(zāi)中努力幫助人們重建遭到嚴(yán)重破壞的社區(qū)。在斯里蘭卡，志愿人員為實(shí)現(xiàn)消除瘧疾的偉大成就發(fā)揮了重要作用。在馬里和哥倫比亞，聯(lián)合國(guó)志愿人員參加實(shí)現(xiàn)和平的努力。

Volunteering gives the most marginalized people in society an opportunity to get involved in the decision-making process. Volunteers can use their voices to shape conversations, question social norms and promote the values we all hold dear. Volunteers are critical to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

志愿服務(wù)使社會(huì)中最邊緣化的群體有機(jī)會(huì)參與決策進(jìn)程。志愿人員可以利用他們的聲音引導(dǎo)對(duì)話、質(zhì)疑社會(huì)規(guī)范和推廣我們所有人珍視的價(jià)值觀。志愿人員對(duì)于實(shí)現(xiàn)可持續(xù)發(fā)展目標(biāo)至關(guān)重要。

I extend my deepest gratitude to the more than 6,700 United Nations Volunteers, 12,000 United Nations Online Volunteers and the one billion community volunteers worldwide. You are all instrumental to the future of people and the planet. Your commitment and passion can act as inspiration to us all.

我對(duì)6700多名聯(lián)合國(guó)志愿人員、12000多名聯(lián)合國(guó)在線志愿人員和世界各地的10億多名社區(qū)志愿人員表示最深切的感謝。你們對(duì)于人民和地球的未來(lái)有舉足輕重的作用。你們的承諾和熱情能夠激勵(lì)我們所有人。

On this International Volunteer Day, let us recognize the immense value of the world’s volunteers. As they lend a hand to others, let us give volunteers a hand by applauding their global citizenship and their commitment to building a future of peace, prosperity and dignity for all.

值此國(guó)際志愿人員日之際，讓我們承認(rèn)世界志愿人員的巨大價(jià)值。在志愿人員伸手幫助他人的時(shí)候，讓我們伸手為他們的全球公民意識(shí)和他們?yōu)樗腥私ㄔO(shè)一個(gè)和平、繁榮和尊嚴(yán)的未來(lái)的努力而鼓掌吧。
