當湯姆霍華德十七歲的時候他和他父親一樣高了，于是他開始借霍華德先生的衣服時，他想出去和他的朋友們在晚上。霍華德先生不喜歡這樣，他總是很生氣，當他發現他的兒子穿他的衣服。一天晚上，湯姆下樓出去，父親在門廳里攔住了他。他觀察著湯姆的衣服。然后他生氣地說，“那不是我的領帶嗎，湯姆？”“是的，父親，是的，”湯姆回答說。“還有那襯衫也是我的。”“是的，那也是你的，”湯姆回答說。“你穿著我的皮帶！”霍華德先生說。“是的，我，爸爸，”湯姆回答說。”你不愿意讓你的褲子掉下來，是嗎？”
