假定你名叫徐惠。星期四下午兩點半理工大學外語系陳華同志打電話找瓊斯先生，約他第二天上午十點在陳華辦公室會面，并說如果這個時間不合適的話請瓊斯先生給他打個電話。當時瓊斯先生不在你校辦公室，你代接的電話。請你寫一張便條，轉告瓊斯先生電話內容。

電話留言（telephone message）的便條是在給別人打來電話時，該人不在場，你替他或她接了電話后留給該人的字條。寫這種便條時，首先要告訴對方誰打來的電話，再把電話內容轉告清楚。在信頭部位要寫明代接電話的時間。時間的寫法由小到大，如：2∶30p. m., Thursday。可以只寫星期，不寫幾月幾日
