Life is full of ups and downs. There are many difficulties in store for us. What matters is that we should face failure bravely and spare no effort to make a new start.

I used to be a top student in junior high school. But much to my disappointment, in the first exam in senior high school, I only got 85 points against an average of 120 in maths.

Instead of feeling frustrated, I soon calmed down and managed to find out the reasons for my failure with the help of my teachers and parents. Then I adjusted my ways of studying following the teacher’s advice such as careful previewing the lessons, concentrating more in class and so on. My hard work was rewarded with great progress in the next exam.

It was my confidence in myself and perseverance that helped me recover from the failure.Never give up and keep trying! I believe everyone will overcome the difficulties and enjoy the glory of life again.

As we all know, we need some qualities to achieve success in our life. Personally, the most important quality is persistence. The road to success cannot be smooth all the time. There might be some setbacks and troubles waiting for us.

When we suffer failure, we should keep on trying, because persistence is the only way to survive the failure. At the same time, we should have confidence in ourselves. As a saying goes, “Where there is a will, there is a way.”It is confidence that allows us to have the courage to face challenges and seek new solutions.
