1：1 論到從起初原有的生命之道，就是我們所聽(tīng)見(jiàn)所看見(jiàn)的，親眼看過(guò)，親手摸過(guò)的。
That which was from the beginning， which we have heard， which we have seen with our eyes， which we have looked upon， and our hands have handled， of the Word of life；
1：2 （這生命已經(jīng)顯現(xiàn)出來(lái)，我們也看見(jiàn)過(guò)，現(xiàn)在又作見(jiàn)證，將原與父同在，且顯現(xiàn)與我們那永遠(yuǎn)的生命，傳給你們）。
?。‵or the life was manifested， and we have seen it， and bear witness， and shew unto you that eternal life， which was with the Father， and was manifested unto us；）
1：3 我們將所看見(jiàn)，所聽(tīng)見(jiàn)的，傳給你們，使你們與我們相交。我們乃是與父并他兒子耶穌基督相交的。
That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you， that ye also may have fellowship with us： and truly our fellowship is with the Father， and with his Son Jesus Christ.
1：4 我們將這些話寫(xiě)給你們，使你們（有古卷作我們）的喜樂(lè)充足。
And these things write we unto you， that your joy may be full.
1：5 神就是光，在他毫無(wú)黑暗。這是我們從主所聽(tīng)見(jiàn)，又報(bào)給你們的信息。
This then is the message which we have heard of him， and declare unto you， that God is light， and in him is no darkness at all.
1：6 我們?nèi)粽f(shuō)是與神相交，卻仍在黑暗里行，就是說(shuō)謊話，不行真理了。
If we say that we have fellowship with him， and walk in darkness， we lie， and do not the truth：
1：7 我們?nèi)粼诠饷髦行校缤裨诠饷髦校捅舜讼嘟?，他兒子耶穌的血也洗凈我們一切的罪。
But if we walk in the light， as he is in the light， we have fellowship one with another， and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1：8 我們?nèi)粽f(shuō)自己無(wú)罪，便是自欺，真里不在我們心里了。
If we say that we have no sin， we deceive ourselves， and the truth is not in us.
1：9 我們?nèi)粽J(rèn)自己的罪，神是信實(shí)的，是公義的，必要赦免我們的罪，洗凈我們一切的不義。
If we confess our sins， he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins， and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1：10 我們?nèi)粽f(shuō)自己沒(méi)有犯過(guò)罪，便是以神為說(shuō)謊的。他的道也不在我們心里了。
If we say that we have not sinned， we make him a liar， and his word is not in us.
