舊約 -- 約伯記(Job) -- 第5章
5：1 你且呼求，有誰答應你。諸圣者之中，你轉向那一位呢。
Call now， if there be any that will answer thee； and to which of the saints wilt thou turn？
5：2 忿怒害死愚妄人，嫉妒殺死癡迷人。
For wrath killeth the foolish man， and envy slayeth the silly one.
5：3 我曾見愚妄人扎下根，但我忽然咒詛他的住處。
I have seen the foolish taking root： but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
5：4 他的兒女遠離穩妥的地步，在城門口被壓，并無人搭救。
His children are far from safety， and they are crushed in the gate， neither is there any to deliver them.
5：5 他的莊稼有饑餓的人吃盡了，就是在荊棘里的也搶去了。他的財寶有網羅張口吞滅了。
Whose harvest the hungry eateth up， and taketh it even out of the thorns， and the robber swalloweth up their substance.
5：6 禍患原不是從土中出來。患難也不是從地里發生。
Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust， neither doth trouble spring out of the ground；
5：7 人生在世必遇患難，如同火星飛騰。
Yet man is born unto trouble， as the sparks fly upward.
5：8 至于我，我必仰望神，把我的事情托付他。
I would seek unto God， and unto God would I commit my cause：
5：9 他行大事不可測度，行奇事不可勝數。
Which doeth great things and unsearchable； marvellous things without number：
5：10 降雨在地上，賜水于田里。
Who giveth rain upon the earth， and sendeth waters upon the fields：
5：11 將卑微的安置在高處，將哀痛的舉到穩妥之地。
To set up on high those that be low； that those which mourn may be exalted to safety.
5：12 破壞狡猾人的計謀，使他們所謀的不得成就。
He disappointeth the devices of the crafty， so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.
5：13 他叫有智慧的中了自己的詭計，使狡詐人的計謀速速滅亡。
He taketh the wise in their own craftiness： and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.
5：14 他們白晝遇見黑暗，午間摸索如在夜間。
They meet with darkness in the day time， and grope in the noonday as in the night.
5：15 神拯救窮乏人，脫離他們口中的刀，和強暴人的手。
But he saveth the poor from the sword， from their mouth， and from the hand of the mighty.
5：16 這樣，貧寒的人有指望，罪孽之輩必塞口無言。
So the poor hath hope， and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
5：17 神所懲治的人是有福的。所以你不可輕看全能者的管教。
Behold， happy is the man whom God correcteth： therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty：
5：18 因為他打破，又纏裹。他擊傷，用手醫治。
For he maketh sore， and bindeth up： he woundeth， and his hands make whole.
5：19 你六次遭難，他必救你。就是七次，災禍也無法害你。
He shall deliver thee in six troubles： yea， in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
5：20 在饑荒中，他必救你脫離死亡。在爭戰中，他必救你脫離刀劍的權力。
In famine he shall redeem thee from death： and in war from the power of the sword.
5：21 你必被隱藏，不受口舌之害。災殃臨到，你也不懼怕。
Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue： neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
5：22 你遇見災害饑饉，就必嬉笑。地上的野獸，你也不懼怕。
At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh： neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
5：23 因為你必與田間的石頭立約，田里的野獸也必與你和好。
For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field： and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
5：24 你必知道你帳棚平安，要查看你的羊圈，一無所失。
And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace； and thou shalt visit thy habitation， and shalt not sin.
5：25 也必知道你的后裔將來發達，你的子孫像地上的青草。
Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great， and thine offspring as the grass of the earth.
5：26 你必壽高年邁才歸墳墓，好像禾捆到時收藏。
Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age， like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.
5：27 這理，我們已經考察，本是如此。你須要聽，要知道是與自己有益。
Lo this， we have searched it， so it is； hear it， and know thou it for thy good.
