69. 再相信我一次

I have always tried to maintain a private space for my wife and children. They have been kept separate from my sponsors, my commercial endorsements. When my children were born, we only released photographs so that the paparazzi could not chase them. However, my behavior doesn't make it right for the media to follow my two-and-a-half-year-old daughter to school and report the school's location. They staked out my wife and they pursued my mom. Whatever my wrongdoings, for the sake of my family, please leave my wife and kids alone.

我一直都希望能為我的家人保留私人空間，她們一向都與我的贊助商和商業(yè)活動(dòng)無(wú)關(guān)。當(dāng)我的孩子出生時(shí)，我們只是公布了小孩的照片，以免狗仔隊(duì)去追拍我的家人。所以，雖然我犯了錯(cuò)誤，但這并不代表大家就有理由去跟蹤我兩歲半的女兒，去她的學(xué)校，還把她的學(xué)校地址曝光。他們還跟蹤我太太和我母親。不論我犯了什么錯(cuò)誤，我懇請(qǐng)大家不要再去騷擾我的家人。

I recognize I have brought this on myself, and I know above all I am the one who needs to change. I owe to my family to become a better person. I owe to those closest to me to become a better man. That's where my focus will be.

我承認(rèn)我的墮落是自找的，我也知道，現(xiàn)在最重要的是要痛改前非。我對(duì)我家人有虧欠，我要重新去學(xué)習(xí)怎樣當(dāng)一個(gè)好父親和好丈夫。我對(duì)我身邊的摯親摯友有虧欠，我要學(xué)習(xí)怎樣去做一個(gè)好人。這也將是我未來(lái)所要努力的目標(biāo)。

I have a lot of work to do, and I tend to dedicate myself to doing it. Part of following this path for me is Buddhism, which my mother taught me at a young age. People probably don't realize it, but I was raised a Buddhist, and I actively practiced my faith from childhood until I drifted away from it in recent years. Buddhism teaches that a craving for things outside ourselves causes an unhappy and pointless search for security. It teaches me to stop following every impulse and to learn restraint. Obviously, I lost track of what I was taught.

我有很多的事情要傲，我也將會(huì)全力以赴地朝著這個(gè)目標(biāo)努力。在這個(gè)過(guò)程中我的佛教信仰將會(huì)給我很大幫助。很多人可能不知道，我媽媽從小就把我?guī)нM(jìn)了佛教的領(lǐng)域。我本來(lái)很虔誠(chéng)，但在近幾年慢慢地偏離了這個(gè)信仰。佛教教導(dǎo)人們，過(guò)分地渴望世俗的身外之物，只會(huì)讓人瘋狂地去追尋安全感，不愉快且毫無(wú)意義。佛教講究元，欲而無(wú)求，萬(wàn)事都要有度。很明顯，我與這個(gè)教義背道而馳了。

As I move forward, I will continue to receive help because I've learned that's how people really do change. Starting tomorrow, I will leave for more treatment and more therapy. I would like to thank my friends at Accenture and the players in the field this week for understanding why I'm making these remarks today.

在以后的日子里，我將繼續(xù)接受治療。我知道只有這樣我才能真正地改變。明天我就會(huì)重新回到診所開(kāi)始新一輪的治療。在這里我要感謝世界比洞賽贊助商埃森哲的朋友們和正在比賽中的同僚們，感謝他們對(duì)于我今天在此，致歉的諒解。

In therapy, I've learned the importance of looking at my spiritual life and keeping in balance with my professional life. I need to regain my balance and be centered so I can save the things that are most important to me---my marriage and my children.

在治療過(guò)程中，我學(xué)會(huì)了怎樣去平衡我的精神生活和我的職業(yè)生活。我必須重新找回平衡點(diǎn)，找準(zhǔn)重心，以挽救我最珍貴的婚姻和兒女。

That also means relying on others for help. I've learned to seek support from my peers in therapy, and I hope someday to return that support to others who are seeking help. I do plan to return to golf one day; I just don't know when that day will be.

這也意味著我需要大家的幫忙，我在治療中學(xué)會(huì)了向同伴求助，我也希望有一天我能對(duì)這些幫助過(guò)我的人給予回饋，特別是那些有需要的人。我有再次回到沫場(chǎng)的計(jì)劃，但對(duì)于具體時(shí)間，我現(xiàn)在還無(wú)法確定。

I don't rule out that it will be this year. When I do return, I need to make my behavior more respectful of the game. In recent weeks, I have received many thousands of e-mails, letters and phone calls from people expressing good wishes. To everyone who has reached out to me and my family, thank you. Your encouragement means the world to Elin and me.
