A Part-time Job（一份兼職工作）
During my summer holiday in 2003, I found a part-time job as a cleaner in KFC. I did not realize that it was not an easy job before I didit. I had to work seven hours a day, which would last three weeks. The job was tiring and boring because I had to get up early and went to bed late. Every day I had to repeat the same work, which nearly made me mad. I almost gave it up, but finally I sticked it out until thenew semester began. The experience taught me a lesson that there is no free lunch. I have to work hard to get what I want. So the experience is very meaningful and I know the value of labour.
2003年暑假期間，我在KFC找到了一份保潔員的兼職工作。在做這份工作之前，我根本沒認識到這份工作的艱辛。每天我要工作七個小時，為期三周。這份工作辛苦而且枯燥，因為我不得不早起晚睡。每天我都重復著同樣的工作，這樣的生活使我快要發瘋了。我差點就要放棄了，但是最終我堅持下來了，直到新學期開學。這次工作經驗教會了我“天下沒有免費的午餐”，我要努力爭取我所想要得到的。所以說那是一件非常有意義的事情，從中我認識到了勞動的價值所在。
During the summer vacation in 2003, I worked as a cleaner in the KFC. I had to work seven hours a day, which would last three weeks. The work was very hard and dull. It was so boring that I wanted to give it up. At that time I thought of a saying "Where there isa will, there is a way.""Never give up!" I warned myself. Finally I sticked it out. I finished the job before the new semester began. Just as the saying goes, "No pains, no gains." Now I understand the value of labour.
2003年的暑假，我在一家肯德基快餐店做清潔工。每天，我必須工作7個小時，總共三個星期。這項工作既辛苦又枯燥，它如此無味以致于我想放棄，但這時我想起了一句諺語“有志者，事竟成。”“不要輕言放棄。”我告誡自己。最后，在新學期開始之前，我完成了這項工作。正如一句諺語所說“不勞不獲”。現在我明白了勞動的價值所在。
