　　2：1 但你所講的，總要合乎那純正的道理。

　　But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine：

　　2：2 勸老年人，要有節(jié)制，端莊，自守，在信心愛心忍耐上，都要純?nèi)珶o疵。

　　That the aged men be sober， grave， temperate， sound in faith， in charity， in patience.

　　2：3 又勸老年婦人，舉止行動(dòng)要恭敬，不說讒言，不給酒作奴仆，用善道教訓(xùn)人。

　　The aged women likewise， that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness， not false accusers， not given to much wine， teachers of good things；

　　2：4 好指教少年婦人，愛丈夫，愛兒女，That they may teach the young women to be sober， to love their husbands， to love their children，

　　2：5 謹(jǐn)守貞潔，料理家務(wù)，待人有恩，順服自己的丈夫，免得神的道理被毀謗。

　　To be discreet， chaste， keepers at home， good， obedient to their own husbands， that the word of God be not blasphemed.

　　2：6 又勸少年人要謹(jǐn)守。

　　Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

　　2：7 你自己凡事要顯出善行的榜樣，在教訓(xùn)上要正直，端莊，In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works： in doctrine shewing uncorruptness， gravity， sincerity，

　　2：8 言語純?nèi)瑹o可指責(zé)，叫那反對(duì)的人，既無處可說我們的不是，便自覺羞愧。

　　Sound speech， that cannot be condemned； that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed， having no evil thing to say of you.

　　2：9 勸仆人要順服自己的主人，凡事討他的喜歡。不可頂撞他。

　　Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters， and to please them well in all things； not answering again；

　　2：10 不可私拿東西。要顯為忠誠(chéng)，以致凡事尊榮我們救主神的道。

　　Not purloining， but shewing all good fidelity； that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

　　2：11 因?yàn)樯窬缺娙说亩鞯洌呀?jīng)顯明出來，F(xiàn)or the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men，

　　2：12 教訓(xùn)我們除去不敬虔的心，和世俗的情欲，在今世自守，公義，敬虔度日。

　　Teaching us that， denying ungodliness and worldly lusts， we should live soberly， righteously， and godly， in this present world；

　　2：13 等候所盼望的福，并等候至大的神，和（或作無和字）我們救主耶穌基督的榮耀顯現(xiàn)。

　　Looking for that blessed hope， and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ；

　　2：14 他為我們舍了自己，要贖我們脫離一切罪惡，又潔凈我們，特作自己的子民，熱心為善。

　　Who gave himself for us， that he might redeem us from all iniquity， and purify unto himself a peculiar people， zealous of good works.

　　2：15 這些事你要講明，勸戒人，用各等權(quán)柄責(zé)備人。不可叫人輕看你。

　　These things speak， and exhort， and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
