舊約 -- 箴言(Proverbs) -- 第29章
29：1 人屢次受責(zé)罰，仍然硬著頸項(xiàng)，他必頃刻敗壞，無法可治。
He， that being often reproved hardeneth his neck， shall suddenly be destroyed， and that without remedy.
29：2 義人增多，民就喜樂。惡人掌權(quán)，民就嘆息。
When the righteous are in authority， the people rejoice： but when the wicked beareth rule， the people mourn.
29：3 愛慕智慧的，使父親喜樂。與妓女結(jié)交的，卻浪費(fèi)錢財(cái)。
Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father： but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.
29：4 王藉公平，使國(guó)堅(jiān)定。索要賄賂，使國(guó)傾敗。
The king by judgment establisheth the land： but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
29：5 諂媚鄰舍的，就是設(shè)網(wǎng)羅絆他的腳。
A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.
29：6 惡人犯罪，自陷網(wǎng)羅。惟獨(dú)義人，歡呼喜樂。
In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare： but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
29：7 義人知道查明窮人的案。惡人沒有聰明，就不得而知。
The righteous considereth the cause of the poor： but the wicked regardeth not to know it.
29：8 褻慢人煽惑通城。智慧人止息眾怒。
Scornful men bring a city into a snare： but wise men turn away wrath.
29：9 智慧人與愚妄人相爭(zhēng)，或怒，或笑，總不能使他止息。
If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man， whether he rage or laugh， there is no rest.
29：10 好流人血的，恨惡完全人。索取正直人的性命。
The bloodthirsty hate the upright： but the just seek his soul.
29：11 愚妄人怒氣全發(fā)。智慧人忍氣含怒。
A fool uttereth all his mind： but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
29：12 君王若聽謊言，他一切臣仆都是奸惡。
If a ruler hearken to lies， all his servants are wicked.
29：13 貧窮人，強(qiáng)暴人，在世相遇，他們的眼目，都蒙耶和華光照。
The poor and the deceitful man meet together： the LORD lighteneth both their eyes.
29：14 君王憑誠(chéng)實(shí)判斷窮人，他的國(guó)位，必永遠(yuǎn)堅(jiān)立。
The king that faithfully judgeth the poor， his throne shall be established for ever.
29：15 杖打和責(zé)備，能加增智慧。放縱的兒子，使母親羞愧。
The rod and reproof give wisdom： but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
29：16 惡人加多，過犯也加多。義人必看見他們跌倒。
When the wicked are multiplied， transgression increaseth： but the righteous shall see their fall.
29：17 管教你的兒子，他就使你得安息，也必使你心里喜樂。
Correct thy son， and he shall give thee rest； yea， he shall give delight unto thy soul.
29：18 沒有異象，（或作默示）民就放肆。惟遵守律法的，便為有福。
Where there is no vision， the people perish： but he that keepeth the law， happy is he.
29：19 只用言語，仆人不肯受管教，他雖然明白，也不留意。
A servant will not be corrected by words： for though he understand he will not answer.
29：20 你見言語急躁的人嗎。愚昧人比他更有指望。
Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words？ there is more hope of a fool than of him.
29：21 人將仆人從小嬌養(yǎng)，這仆人終久必成了他的兒子。
He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
29：22 好氣的人，挑啟爭(zhēng)端。暴怒的人，多多犯罪。
An angry man stirreth up strife， and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
29：23 人的高傲，必使他卑下。心里謙遜的，必得尊榮。
A man's pride shall bring him low： but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
29：24 人與盜賊分贓，是恨惡自己的性命。他聽見叫人發(fā)誓的聲音，卻不言語。
Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul： he heareth cursing， and bewrayeth it not.
29：25 懼怕人的陷入網(wǎng)羅。惟有倚靠耶和華的，必得安穩(wěn)。
The fear of man bringeth a snare： but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
29：26 求王恩的人多。定人事乃在耶和華。
Many seek the ruler's favour； but every man's judgment cometh from the LORD.
29：27 為非作歹的，被義人憎嫌。行事正直的，被惡人憎惡。
An unjust man is an abomination to the just： and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.
