舊約 -- 以斯拉記(Ezra) -- 第4章

　　4：1 猶大和便雅憫的敵人，聽(tīng)說(shuō)被擄歸回的人，為耶和華以色列的神建造殿宇，Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity builded the temple unto the LORD God of Israel；

　　4：2 就去見(jiàn)所羅巴伯和以色列的族長(zhǎng)，對(duì)他們說(shuō)，請(qǐng)容我們與你們一同建造。因?yàn)槲覀儗で竽銈兊纳瘢c你們一樣。自從亞述王以撒哈頓帶我們上這地以來(lái)，我們常祭祀神。

　　Then they came to Zerubbabel， and to the chief of the fathers， and said unto them， Let us build with you： for we seek your God， as ye do； and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assur， which brought us up hither.

　　4：3 但所羅巴伯，耶書(shū)亞，和其馀以色列的族長(zhǎng)對(duì)他們說(shuō)，我們建造神的殿與你們無(wú)干，我們自己為耶和華以色列的神協(xié)力建造，是照波斯王居魯士所吩咐的。

　　But Zerubbabel， and Jeshua， and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel， said unto them， Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God； but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel， as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us.

　　4：4 那地的民，就在猶大人建造的時(shí)候，使他們的手發(fā)軟，擾亂他們。

　　Then the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah， and troubled them in building，

　　4：5 從波斯王居魯士年間，直到波斯王大流士登基的時(shí)候，賄買(mǎi)謀士，要敗壞他們的謀算。

　　And hired counsellors against them， to frustrate their purpose， all the days of Cyrus king of Persia， even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.

　　4：6 在亞哈隨魯才登基的時(shí)候，上本控告猶大和耶路撒冷的居民。

　　And in the reign of Ahasuerus， in the beginning of his reign， wrote they unto him an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem.

　　4：7 亞達(dá)薛西年間，比施蘭，米特利達(dá)，他別，和他們的同黨，上本奏告波斯王亞達(dá)薛西。本章是用亞蘭文字，亞蘭方言。

　　And in the days of Artaxerxes wrote Bishlam， Mithredath， Tabeel， and the rest of their companions， unto Artaxerxes king of Persia； and the writing of the letter was written in the Syrian tongue， and interpreted in the Syrian tongue.

　　4：8 省長(zhǎng)利宏，書(shū)記伸帥要控告耶路撒冷人，也上本奏告亞達(dá)薛西王。

　　Rehum the chancellor and Shimshai the scribe wrote a letter against Jerusalem to Artaxerxes the king in this sort：

　　4：9 省長(zhǎng)利宏，書(shū)記伸帥，和同黨的底拿人，亞法薩提迦人，他毗拉人，亞法撒人，亞基衛(wèi)人，巴比倫人，書(shū)珊迦人，底亥人，以攔人，Then wrote Rehum the chancellor， and Shimshai the scribe， and the rest of their companions； the Dinaites， the Apharsathchites， the Tarpelites， the Apharsites， the Archevites， the Babylonians， the Susanchites， the Dehavites， and the Elamites，

　　4：10 和尊大的亞斯那巴所遷移，安置在撒瑪利亞城，并大河西一帶地方的人等，And the rest of the nations whom the great and noble Asnapper brought over， and set in the cities of Samaria， and the rest that are on this side the river， and at such a time.

　　4：11 上奏亞達(dá)薛西王說(shuō)，河西的臣民云云。

　　This is the copy of the letter that they sent unto him， even unto Artaxerxes the king； Thy servants the men on this side the river， and at such a time.

　　4：12 王該知道，從王那里上到我們這里的猶大人，已經(jīng)到耶路撒冷重建，這反叛惡劣的城，筑立根基，建造城墻。

　　Be it known unto the king， that the Jews which came up from thee to us are come unto Jerusalem， building the rebellious and the bad city， and have set up the walls thereof， and joined the foundations.

　　4：13 如今王該知道，他們?nèi)艚ㄔ爝@城，城墻完畢就不再與王進(jìn)貢，交課，納稅，終久王必受虧損。

　　Be it known now unto the king， that， if this city be builded， and the walls set up again， then will they not pay toll， tribute， and custom， and so thou shalt endamage the revenue of the kings.

　　4：14 我們既食御鹽，不忍見(jiàn)王吃虧，因此奏告于王。

　　Now because we have maintenance from the king's palace， and it was not meet for us to see the king's dishonour， therefore have we sent and certified the king；

　　4：15 請(qǐng)王考察先王的實(shí)錄，必在其上查知這城是反叛的城，與列王和各省有害。自古以來(lái)，其中常有悖逆的事，因此這城曾被拆毀。

　　That search may be made in the book of the records of thy fathers： so shalt thou find in the book of the records， and know that this city is a rebellious city， and hurtful unto kings and provinces， and that they have moved sedition within the same of old time： for which cause was this city destroyed.

　　4：16 我們謹(jǐn)奏王知，這城若再建造，城墻完畢，河西之地王就無(wú)分了。

　　We certify the king that， if this city be builded again， and the walls thereof set up， by this means thou shalt have no portion on this side the river.

　　4：17 那時(shí)王諭覆省長(zhǎng)利宏，書(shū)記伸帥，和他們的同黨，就是住撒瑪利亞并河西一帶地方的人，說(shuō)，愿你們平安云云。

　　Then sent the king an answer unto Rehum the chancellor， and to Shimshai the scribe， and to the rest of their companions that dwell in Samaria， and unto the rest beyond the river， Peace， and at such a time.

　　4：18 你們所上的本，已經(jīng)明讀在我面前。

　　The letter which ye sent unto us hath been plainly read before me.

　　4：19 我已命人考查，得知此城古來(lái)果然背叛列王，其中常有反叛悖逆的事。

　　And I commanded， and search hath been made， and it is found that this city of old time hath made insurrection against kings， and that rebellion and sedition have been made therein.

　　4：20 從前耶路撒冷也有大君王統(tǒng)管河西全地，人就給他們進(jìn)貢，交課，納稅。

　　There have been mighty kings also over Jerusalem， which have ruled over all countries beyond the river； and toll， tribute， and custom， was paid unto them.

　　4：21 現(xiàn)在你們要出告示命這些人停工，使這城不得建造，等我降旨。

　　Give ye now commandment to cause these men to cease， and that this city be not builded， until another commandment shall be given from me.

　　4：22 你們當(dāng)謹(jǐn)慎，不可遲延，為何容害加重，使王受虧損呢。

　　Take heed now that ye fail not to do this： why should damage grow to the hurt of the kings？

　　4：23 亞達(dá)薛西王的上諭讀在利宏和書(shū)記伸帥，并他們的同黨面前，他們就急忙往耶路撒冷去見(jiàn)猶大人，用勢(shì)力強(qiáng)迫他們停工。

　　Now when the copy of king Artaxerxes' letter was read before Rehum， and Shimshai the scribe， and their companions， they went up in haste to Jerusalem unto the Jews， and made them to cease by force and power.

　　4：24 于是，在耶路撒冷神殿的工程就停止了，直停到波斯王大流士第二年。

　　Then ceased the work of the house of God which is at Jerusalem. So it ceased unto the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.
