　　英語(yǔ)短文：
　　有些人很努力很勤奮，夢(mèng)想有一天能成為成功者，站在高級(jí)寫字樓頂俯瞰成個(gè)城市，但往往不成功。他們沒(méi)有成功者的思維和情商，不知道如何最好利用身邊的資源。成功，并不遙遠(yuǎn)。

　　1. Don’t make excuses
　　不要找借口

　　Sometimes you might find yourself in the midstof an unfairsituation. In such a situation, it’s easy to make excuses and most people do. But winners are different. They don’t make excuses or blamethe situation. Instead, they focus on what they can do to get the most out of it.
　　有時(shí)候你會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)自己受到不公正待遇。在這種情況下，一般都會(huì)很容易找到借口而且大多數(shù)人也是這么做的。但是成功者不一樣。他們不會(huì)尋找理由或責(zé)怪形勢(shì)。相反，他們會(huì)集中精力在糟糕的環(huán)境下獲得最好結(jié)果。

　　2. Be comfortable being uncomfortable
　　對(duì)挑戰(zhàn)隨遇而安

　　Like it or not, growing in life often means moving out of your comfort zone. Why? Because in order to grow you need to expand your personal capacityand that requires you to take on new challenges. For that reason, you need to be comfortable being uncomfortable. Only then can you do the things that are necessary for your personal growth.
　　無(wú)論喜不喜歡，獲得成長(zhǎng)經(jīng)常需要你走出舒適區(qū)。為什么呢？因?yàn)槌砷L(zhǎng)需要你拓寬潛在能力，那就意味著要承擔(dān)新挑戰(zhàn)。因?yàn)檫@樣，你需要對(duì)挑戰(zhàn)隨遇而安，只有這樣才能讓你完成提升能力的事。

　　3. Have a strong desire to perform and excel
　　盡全力表現(xiàn)，追求卓越

　　For the winners, simply meeting the standard is not enough. Their goal is exceptionalperformance. Whatever it is you are doing, striveto become the best that you can be.
　　對(duì)成功者來(lái)說(shuō)，達(dá)到標(biāo)準(zhǔn)并不夠。他們的目標(biāo)是有出類拔萃的表現(xiàn)。不管你在做什么，都努力發(fā)揮到最好。

　　4. Focus; one step at a time
　　專一；一次一步

　　To get things done, you need focus. But it’s difficult to do that if you look at the whole thing. So you should instead focus on just the current small step that you are in.
　　完成事情需要專心。但是當(dāng)你縱觀全局時(shí)往往很難做到這一點(diǎn)。所以你應(yīng)該只關(guān)注手頭上正在做的事情。

　　5. Don’t dwellon past mistakes
　　不要沉浸在過(guò)去的錯(cuò)誤中

　　Winners make mistakes just like other people, but what makes them different is their attitude toward mistakes. They don’t dwell on them nor let them hindertheir actions. Instead, they learn their lessons, block the negative thoughts, and move on.
　　成功者也和其他人一樣犯錯(cuò)誤，但對(duì)待錯(cuò)誤的態(tài)度和他們不同。他們不會(huì)迷失其中或讓錯(cuò)誤阻礙他們的行動(dòng)。相反的是，他們從錯(cuò)誤中學(xué)習(xí)，排除消極想法，并繼續(xù)向前。

　　6. Adapt
　　適應(yīng)環(huán)境

　　The world is changing and changing fast. So if you want to thrive, you must be able to adapt. Some people insist on doing things the old way, but winners know that they need to change. They are willing to adopt a new way of doing things.
　　世界正在飛速變化，所以如果你想闖出一片天，你要學(xué)會(huì)適應(yīng)環(huán)境。有些人堅(jiān)持用舊方法處理事物，但是成功者知道他們需要改變。他們會(huì)用新方法做事。

　　7. Know your window of opportunity

　　Whatever it is you are trying to accomplish, you should be aware of its window of opportunity. Something that looks promising today might become worthless a few months from now. By knowing the window of opportunity, you can use your resources wisely.
　　不管你想達(dá)成什么目標(biāo)，你應(yīng)該認(rèn)清機(jī)會(huì)在哪里。今天看上去有前途的事情幾個(gè)月后或許一文不值。當(dāng)知道機(jī)會(huì)在哪里時(shí)，你可以更明智的利用資源。

　　8. Be humble
　　謙虛

　　Many people want to take credit for themselves, but winners know that they can’t achieve things by themselves. They also realize that there are others out there who can do what they do. So instead of bragging about their achievements, they stay humble.
　　很多人想往自己臉上貼金，但是成功者知道他們只靠自己是完不成事情的。他們明白很多人也能勝任他們的工作，所以會(huì)很謙虛，而不是夸耀他們的成就。

　　9. Master throttlecontrol
　　把握事情節(jié)奏

　　Winners know when to wait and when to act. When they need to wait, they wait patiently. When they need to act, they act decisively. They know how to read the situation.
　　成功者知道何時(shí)等待和行動(dòng)。當(dāng)需要等時(shí)機(jī)時(shí)，他們會(huì)耐心等待。當(dāng)需要行動(dòng)時(shí)，他們毫不猶豫。他們知道如何判斷時(shí)機(jī)好壞。

　　10. Prepare for contingencies
　　準(zhǔn)備好應(yīng)對(duì)偶發(fā)事件

　　Winners prepare themselves for bad situations. They know that things could go wrong so they prepare themselves beforehand. Do you have a plan B for your career? Have you built an emergency fund? Good preparation helps you recover quickly when things go wrong.
