Why should we call some people specialists? Becausethey have accumulated a system of expertise intheir domain after years of research and practicesand been acknowledged by their peers and thepublic. Those real specialists are able to provide thepubic with accurate information and solve manyproblems. Of course, as to err is human, realspecialists can not avoid making mistakes in their lives. But so long as they maintain an honestand scientific attitude toward their opinions, the public can still forgive them even if they makewrong judgments.

However, in recent years, the public have an increasing suspicion of specialists’ opinions. Somespecialists frequently appear in TV advertisements to endorse on certain products. Theseexperts seem to lose the public’s trust, for they are suspected to unfavorably direct the publicand provide wrong information. Inmy opinion, specialists’ opinions can only be trusted so longas they are honest.
但是最近幾年，公眾對(duì)專家的意見產(chǎn)生了越來越多的懷疑。許多專家頻繁出現(xiàn)在電視廣告之中，為某產(chǎn)品做代言。這些專家似乎失去了公眾的信任，人們懷疑他們誤導(dǎo)了公眾的方向，并提供了不真實(shí)的信息。我認(rèn)為，只有專家誠實(shí)可信，人們才能信任他們。
Firstly, only honest specialists can provide objective and accurate judgments for the public.Nowadays, specialists are frequently consulted with by big companies and hence they are likelyto provide opinions in favor of those companies. This can be best illustrated in medicineadvertisements in the media. Pharmaceutical companies tend to invite specialists with whitehairs and various titles to provide their comments ontheir products. Without exception, thosespecialists highlight the advantages of new medicines, and then would recommend them tothe public. But one can not help thinking why these experts are willing to appear in the mediaand endorse on the new medicine. All the rational people can figure out that thosespecialistshave been bribed by pharmaceutical companies and hence their comments andrecommendations are in the interest of those companies. While the honesty has beencorrupted by money, should we still trust them?
首先，只有誠實(shí)的專家才能提供可觀的意見，以及準(zhǔn)確的判斷。當(dāng)今，專家通常會(huì)成為大公司的顧問，他們通常會(huì)提供一些對(duì)公司有利的意見。這些能夠從醫(yī)藥廣告中體現(xiàn)出來。醫(yī)藥公司通常會(huì)聘請(qǐng)一些有白頭發(fā)，有許多頭銜的專家，并為他們的產(chǎn)品提供意見。無一例外，這些專家都會(huì)高調(diào)宣揚(yáng)產(chǎn)品的好處，并向公眾推薦。但是人們不禁會(huì)想為什么這些專家愿意出現(xiàn)在媒體上，并為新藥做廣告呢。所有理性的人們都會(huì)認(rèn)為醫(yī)藥公司給了專家好處，只有這樣，專家的意見和建議才會(huì)有利于這些公司。這樣的誠實(shí)是建立在金錢之上的，我們還應(yīng)該相信他們嗎?
Secondly, the media has produced a lot of fake specialists. Wrapped by an aura of trustabletitles, these fake experts would speak in an authoritarian tone to the public and provideclaimed accurate information. The truth is that realist specialists are banned by intellectualintegrity and regulations of their institutions to endorse on certain products in anyadvertisements. I am of opinion that real experts are reluctant to appear in the media, for realspecialists should absorb themselves in their research and do not wantto be disturbed by themedia. Consequently, we can reason that the more impressive the introductions of specialistare, the more likely they are fake specialists.
第二，媒體產(chǎn)生了許多假冒專家。這些專家有許多可信的頭銜，這些專家會(huì)以一種官方的口氣說話，并提供自認(rèn)為正確的信息。事實(shí)是，真正的專家卻受到了正義、原則的限制，他們無法為產(chǎn)品做代言。我認(rèn)為，真正的專家不會(huì)出現(xiàn)在媒體上，真正的專家會(huì)全身心投入在研究上，并不想受到媒體的打擾。所以，專家的介紹越誘人，他們?cè)旒俚膸茁示蜁?huì)越高。
On all accounts, so long as specialists are not employed by companies to provide information tothe public,and they are not fake, their opinions are trustable, for real specialists are honest andprovide objective opinions. Otherwise, we should be cautious about their claimedauthoritarian opinions.
總之，只要公司沒有雇傭?qū)＜遥⒃诠娚咸峁┬畔ⅲ敲矗麄兙褪钦鎸＜遥麄兊囊庖娋褪强尚诺模嬲膶＜沂钦\懇的，能夠提供客觀的意見。否則，我們就應(yīng)該小心他們?cè)诠娝峁┑囊庖姟?/p>
