Do Grades Stimulate Students to Learn?
成績是否會(huì)激勵(lì)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)?
For years, when people talk about education inChina, students are often criticized for studyingonly for grades. But some other people hold theopinion that grades encourage students to learn.
當(dāng)人們談及中國的教育時(shí),人們總會(huì)認(rèn)為中國學(xué)生就是為了成績而學(xué)習(xí)。但是還有一些人認(rèn)為成績將會(huì)激勵(lì)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)。
In my opinion, grades do encourage students tolearn. My reasons are as follows.First of all, we have to make it clear that the idea that gradesencourage students to learn isn’t identical to the one that students study for grades. Thetruth is whatever students are learning and whether they are really learning it well, they willundoubtedly achieve high grades. So grades are not what students are studying for, but ameasurement for parents and teachers to know students’ performance in their academicstudy. Secondly, grades stimulate students to learn because they will study hard to achievehigh grades. Afterwards, no matter what grades they have got, they know that they have donewell or worked hard enough in their studies. If they are not satisfied, they will study even harderand try to do much better in the future.Lastly, some people may say grades give students toomuch pressure. I would say that it’s not grades but what they are learning and whether theyare learning it well or not that give them the pressure. As I said previously, if they aredevoted to what they are learning, it is very likely that they will achieve high grades.
我認(rèn)為成績會(huì)激勵(lì)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)。我的觀點(diǎn)如下。首先,我們應(yīng)該認(rèn)清楚的是成績鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)并不等于學(xué)生為了成績而學(xué)習(xí)。關(guān)鍵是學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)的好壞。學(xué)習(xí)好的學(xué)生無疑將取得好成績。所以,學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)不是為了成績。但是成績確實(shí)是家長和老師衡量學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)效果的指標(biāo)。第二,成績將激勵(lì)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí),因?yàn)樗麄儠?huì)為了取得好成績而好好學(xué)習(xí)。之后,無論他們?nèi)〉檬裁礃拥某煽儯麄兙蜁?huì)知道他們是否已經(jīng)努力學(xué)習(xí)了。如果他們不滿意,他們就會(huì)更努力地學(xué)習(xí),并在未來表現(xiàn)得更好。最后,許多人說成績會(huì)讓學(xué)生有壓力。我想說造成學(xué)生壓力的并不是成績,而是他們學(xué)習(xí)的好壞。就像前面所說,如果他們刻苦學(xué)習(xí),他們很有可能會(huì)取得好成績。
In conclusion, grades can stimulate students to learn. High grades make students obtain asense of fulfillment while low grades give them encouragement and stimulus.Grades helpstudents know their advantages and disadvantages in their academic studies, which is veryhelpful for their future academic development.
總結(jié),成績將激勵(lì)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)。好成績將讓學(xué)生獲得成就感,沒有取得好成績的學(xué)生將會(huì)繼續(xù)學(xué)習(xí)。成績將會(huì)讓學(xué)生查缺補(bǔ)漏,這對(duì)于學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)是很有幫助的。
