Investing in sports is an important part of the governments business to improve the physical fitness of its citizens, particufariy young children. While it is necessary to train a few selected individuals to compete in major worid sporting events, the government should do more to provide young people with plenty of fun activities.

Although the answer to the question depends on who you ask, there is evidence that investing in elite athletes is gaining support from people who like to see their stars shining in international competitions. That in turn is an encouragement for young children to do sports at an early age.
