should I take photoes for my wedding?

I'm going to get married end of this year, and my BF has asked me several times whether we need to take photoes for the wedding. Yes, every couple takes it for granted and thinks that photoes need to be taken as a memory for this holy moment in life. However I seems to have no desire for this, and always say no to him. I don't know what do I really think, I just think now I don't want to have it, and I can have it whenever I want to in the future. Everybody will give me a surprised look when I say I don't want to take wedding photoes and take me as a strange girl.
Is it really a necessity to the wedding when getting married? what do other couples do?
