        everytime when i am on line, i can't help thinking how many people are there with me who don't want to show up, being invisible bestows them the initiative of conversation, that's totally unfair

Suppose in your eyes it's fair to be all online visibly, then those unwilling to start a certain conversation will be forced to say something, at least an apology, or a declination; it's unfair to them.
        
Therefore it's fair for every one to express their demand by choosing between visibility and invisibility; every one voices his own intention without intruding others' freedom and autonomy.

        well that sounds reasonable,but i think at least you should let me know whether you are there or not, if i speak to you ,you don't respond, that's no big deal

It's depends .Sometime I'll keep my QQ with online state ,if I want to chat with my friends . If I don't want to chat I willkeep it invisible .
